Main Ingredients:

Rava / Sooji - 1 Cup
·
Sugar / Powdered Jaggery -
1 Cup
·
Maida – 1 Cup
·
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
·
Milk – ½ Cup
·
Water – 1 Cup
·
Oil
Method:
Take a
bowl and mix Rava, Sugar, Maida, and Cardamom powder.
(I used
sugar as this is a quick version of Appam).
Pour milk and
whisk everything well without any lumps.
Allow it to rest for a minimum of 30 mins.

Check the
batter consistency and adjust with little water. The batter has to be thick.
Heat oil in a pan and pour the batter into the hot oil using a ladle/spoon.
Fry in
medium heat. Flip over and fry golden. (Appam with sugar will be little brown
in Color).
Extra...
You
can add some pieces/ Grated coconut to the batter for extra taste.
Mash
and add a banana to the batter for banana-flavored Appam.
To
use jaggery, melt the jaggery with little water on the stove (No string consistency).
Pour it to the Rava & madia mixture before adding milk/water.
Instead
to frying in oil, you can also cook it in paniyaram pan.
Quick Rava Appam is ready!!!
